During the Cold War the easiest job in the Soviet Union was the person at Pravda assigned to produce anti-American editorial propaganda, because all you needed to do was reprint New York Times editorials. This was often literally true, as Pravda loved to quote the Times, the Post, and other American publications, along the lines of “Even the esteemed New York Times thinks President Reagan is an extremist,” etc.
Well now it is China’s turn. Stung by President Trump signing the bill stating our solidarity with the cause of freedom and democracy in Hong Kong, someone who appears to be a factotum of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken to Twitter to recite all of the usual leftist talking points about how terrible America is.

Maybe I shouldn't look at the negative. Not think the worst. Perhaps, after decades of writing
stories that despotic Russian (et. al.) governments pointed-to as evidence that America is rotten,
Mother Jones has finally come to the conclusion that it actually means something.
Mother jones, WaPo, NYT, NPR and the rest certainly must have known that their continuous
lies about the Russia hoax helped our enemies.

Putin doesn't want the US involved in the Ukrainian war.
Carlson doesn't want the US involved in the Ukrainian war.

I've watched most of Carlson's comments on the war, certainly not all of them, but easily the
majority. He's clearly not pro-Russian and certainly not pro-Putin, he's not interested in war.

I don't believe that everyone who was against the invasion of Iraq was pro-Saddam. But
evidently it looks like, despite the denials, many were.

Sports are regularly scheduled. I get that there’s a lot of crap on cable TV, but the news is certainly a major part of that crap. You’d probably be better informed about the real world if you just watched some vapid sitcom instead of spending so much time watching a cable news celebrity. They’re all cringe worthy but Carlson is one of the worst and has been for a long time. He’s a California elitist cosplaying as regular guy in order to make oodles of money by stirring up shit amongst his fellow Americans. Too much emotion. Too much noise.

She's close to being correct. We do care more about a war in Ukraine as opposed to the numerous
wars in Africa and Asia. It's not about race or religion, it's about the fact that it is rare, but mostly
because Europe is more important by most measures. A war between China and Taiwan would
receive more coverage than a war between Indonesia and Malaysia.

It's interesting to me that one of the most important directives that came out of 9/11 was that
we should always be on guard against "Islamophobia." "Russiaphobia" seems to be a required
behavior. Maybe Reid could take a look at why that is.

Tucker Carlson and Rachel Maddow are mirror images. Both occasionally tell the truth when it suits their purposes. Both ignore truth when it gets in the way of their agenda.

I never liked Carlson no which political party he’s pretending to be in. Obviously he’s not the only bad apple on the TV news, but he’s the only one where someone here is claiming to have watched the majority of his Ukraine coverage. No media source is without flaws, but you cant use that to excuse the ridiculousness found in a lot cable news programs, especially Tucker Carlson’s.

It’s not all their fault of course. It’s hard to remain relevant as a news program, that starts and ends at a set time each day, in the year 2022. It’s no wonder they spend so much time on emotional hyperbole . It touches our feelies, and we've already heard all the relevant information about the stories of the day by the time their show starts.

'Around here' isn't many folks. MSNBC, NPR, ABC, CBS etc. generally report along the
same political trajectory, Fox is unique. Pluseth, Fox is the target of both government
and media calls for censorship, so defense of the network is more needed.

The NYTs, TODAY!!!!, just revealed that they are removing the "alleged" from in front of
Hunter's laptop. So after months of MSNBC, the WaPo, NYTs, NPR, Biden etc. and former
government intelligence agents claiming that Trump, Giuilani and Fox were pushing
Russian disinformation after demanding Big Tech censor any news about the laptop
it's a big OOOPS!
