I grew up around guns and am a Special Forces combat veteran.
I strongly support the Second Amendment and will never condone
the left-wing Progressives’, Socialists’, and Communist’s efforts to
confiscate the privately owned guns of legal American citizens.

However, there are some gun laws that I believe should be
immediately implemented in America.

*You must be at least 21 years old to purchase any gun.

*No one can purchase a gun without a thorough
and extensive mandatory background check.

*No one can get a gun owner permit until they complete a
certified gun safety training class.

*The ability to legally purchase any assault weapon is
determined by state law.

*Anyone who uses a gun in the commission of a felony
gets a mandatory federal prison sentence in addition to the
sentence handed down by the local court.

There are numerous things that Police Officers, Security
Guards and Teachers should be trained to do to secure our schools and
deal with an active-shooter situation. Teachers should also be trained to spot indicators of potential mental problems with students. They can
free-up the time to do that when they stop teaching critical race hate theory and filing criminal sexual predator charges against 12-year-olds for using the wrong pronoun.

We should also divert some of the $Billions we are sending to foreign governments and use that money to fund Security Officers and resources to protect America’s schools.

There is one additional law that I would enact. It applies to any
illegal alien who commits a felony in America and is deported.
If that convicted felon ever returns to America, he
receives a mandatory 10-year federal prison sentence with no possibility
of parole.

You can't support the Second Amendment's contention of "Shall Not Be Infringed" without doing one of two things:

* Giving everybody, as militia, a gun, come what may...

* or removing everybody, permanently or until reversal, of those who lose those rights -- literally making the right to own a gun central to all other rights in America, as the NRA would want.

I'd go far further than just the gun, myself. I'm not sure I wouldn't even make legal adulthood 21 and add three more years of school.

Not unless you are basically conceding that eventually one state may be called upon to invade another (Ex: Idaho vs. California from the NE).

No problem with that, but the problem is: What does that solve? Are you trying to prevent the gun crime, or concede the point it's going to occur?

And you also don't deal with the possibility someone (either side, and both would have merit to make it) invokes the Second Amendment fully and asks for an adjudication on the basis we are at some degree of armed conflict in this country...

I told a lot of people at my old school (to much hand-throwing and consternation) that if Columbine had happened 10 or so years earlier, they'd have thrown me on the streets.

Remember: "Mental Health" and "Get Help", in this country, mean "GO THE FUCK AWAY".

One of the things I said to my therapist on my court-ordered stuff years ago was that mental health is the willingness of ability to think and act like everyone else. The therapist wished he had an argument with that statement, but had none.

You'd need to divert that money for a military operation to seize this country by lethal force, first.

Mike (Here's something I don't think you understand: Even the worst jail in America can be an improvement over certain people's present circumstances.. It's one of the main reasons prison rape is all you got as a deterrent at this point.)
