I watched part of the PHI/MIA game with the Eagles announcers covering it (here in the Philly market). It was obvious from the start that the Birds weren't playing their starters. The Phins couldn't have gotten much out of this other than to see who might make the practice squad.

Well, it's always been about the fringe players. And showcasing someone
you might get some trade value before you cut them.

That's an opinion based on perspective. For those trying to keep their
dream alive or those trying to prove they are more than PS, the game was
far from useless. For the linemen to get in sync or backups trying to
get more familiar with the scheme/assignments, it's a big deal. Even
for the starters against eh PHI 2s, a little live action is beneficial.
I get the worry about injuries and the segments of boredom, but PS games
have their place.

Heh, as I understand it, they lost to NWU in Ireland? A bit too much Jameson before the game, perhaps...

It was actually a very entertaining game. I enjoyed it, didn't care who
won. Wife wanted NW, so she got her wish )

Scott Frost is on an even hotter seat losing as an 11 point favorite.
