"Ageing Upturned" New Scientist, 30Apr2022// And here I thought "accumulation of errors" was the mechanism of aging.

I welcome news articles that are almost 180degrees opposite of what everyone is thinking.

Of course, AP has his share of theories that are 180degrees opposite of current establishment science.

1) Atom Totality not Big Bang
2) geometry proof of calculus, not limit analysis
3) Real true electron is muon, not 0.5MeV particle
4) Boole logic is all wrong, and AND truth table is TTTF not TFFF
5) Oval is the slant cut in single cone, not the ellipse
6) Liver is the brain of body, and the brain a ancilliary organ of the liver
...... hundreds of new ideas all diametrically opposite current beliefs

So it is comforting to me, that we see a opposite view of "aging" to the current accepted mechanism-- accumulation of error.

Absolutely interesting and some evidence in favor of this theory-- a theory that the normal growth of a organism keeps on going when it should slow down, and thus ageing in their viewpoint is sort of a "Burn-out" of the body.

Alright, just tonight I had a chance to read the full article. And I am going to revert myself back to the old tried and true and logical theory that ageing is caused by the accumulation of mistakes in the body.

I do not buy this new research suggesting ageing is the action of growth genes beyond control. I call it the "burnt out theory". I call the old theory as the "accumulation of mistakes and errors".

I believe what these researchers have found is not reversal of ageing but rather -- short term stimulation. I remember in my late 20s I had some stimulant of energy and I felt super good in running and active. And recently some people with Covid-19 get these energy boosters (Trump when he had covid) was injected with energy boosters.

So, I think this entire article and its research is not about ageing but about extra energy stimulation.

And a key research evidence that this is not about ageing but about energy stimulation is the research of giving old mice fresh new young mice blood. And the mice then acting better than before. So if it is growth factors that are not turned off or slowed down, then the act of giving young blood to old mice contradicts the theory that growth factors causes aging. The old mice receiving the young mice blood were not reversed ageing, but simply energy stimulated.

I picture a person in the desert without water and feebly making a trek. Then along comes a fountain of fresh clean pure cold water and the trekker revitalizing his body, not making his body younger, just a boost in energy stimulation.

So, I would argue that these scientists are barking up a wrong tree. And that the old theory of ageing -- "accumulation of errors and mistakes", is still the number 1 theory of ageing.

Stimulation in biology is far far different than that of "becoming young once again". I remember when Trump got off the plane after treatment for covid virus, and the treatment involved some high stimulants. And of course Trump would have rejoiced in this "being made young again-- in feelings". But Trump was not turned back or turned around in ageing, no, all that Trump experienced was a euphoric high from drugs that stimulated is present old body to seem like it felt 20 or 30 years younger.

I know when I was on a vacation more than 2 decades ago visiting American southwest deserts, I too had a euphoric high feeling on getting a jug of carbonated cold pure spring water and guzzling that down, feeling the water coursing through my arteries and blood vessels. Did it make me younger?? Of course not. And this is what the researchers involved in the New Scientist, 30Apr2022 article "Ageing Upturned" are mistaken and in error over. They fail to realize there is a vast difference between body stimulation and body reversing of age. And the experiment that these bonehead fake interpretation should have looked at most carefully is the experiment of putting Young mouse blood into Old mice and seeing they behaved better. Well, they were stimulated, just as Trump was stimulated. And the blood experiment goes directly counter to the theme of this research hypothesis, for young blood is -- growth development blood. If the Young blood had made the old mice -- even more older, then there is no contradiction to their silly theory. But the young blood did just the exact opposite -- made them feel better. And that proves these experiments are all about Stimulation of old body, but never reversal of ageing.

As I so often say, in science-- getting data is dime a dozen and takes dime a dozen marbles of brains. But once science researchers start making Interpretations of their data-- well there is a old saying -- separate the men from the boys. Often, not always, but often it is the case that scientists never have the correct logical wits to interpret correctly their science.
