The relationship between axial orientation, as a product of daily rotation characteristics, and the orbital plane defines a planet's climate.

The furthest orientation to the orbital plane is 90 degrees. Jupiter displays this feature and its climate is equatorial as nothing changes as the planet runs a circuit of the Sun.

Uranus has an orientation close to its orbital plane hence it displays large variations in conditions across latitudes similar to a polar climate.

The Earth has an orientation of 66 1/2 degrees from the orbital plane so has a largely Equatorial climate as any planet with an orientation above 45 degrees has an equatorial climate while orientations below that value have a polar climate within the spectrum.

The day is defined by the sunrise/noon/sunset cycle with noon as the anchor and the length of time from sunrise to noon symmetrical with noon to sunset . The orbital year is defined by the same cycle for the the length of time from the March Equinox to the June Solstice is symmetrical with the length of time from the June Solstice and the September Equinox with the June Solstice as the anchor.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arctic_Circle#/media/File:Arctic_circle.svg

As the North Pole ( and the entire surface) rotates parallel to the orbital plane as a function of the Earth's orbital motion, the distance between the North Pole and the dark hemisphere begins to shrink and with it the circumference where the Sun remains constantly in view, slowly at first but with increasing contraction over the next few months towards the September Equinox.

After the September Equinox when the North Pole passes through the planet's divisor and into the dark hemisphere of the Earth, an increasing circumference where the Sun remains out of view will take its place.

It takes two surface rotations to explain the seasons and from there into the traits of planetary climate. Experimental theorists can't handle cyclical motions so in the absence of inspirational qualities found in solar system and Earth science research, they resort to dire conclusions.
