Deal of the day for Prime Members: Celestron – SkyMaster 20X80 Binocular – Outdoor and Astronomy Binocular – Large Aperture for Long Distance Viewing – Multi-coated Optics – Carrying Case Included – Ultra Sharp Focus https://a.co/d/647U3NO

Half price on Amazon.
This 80 mm is only $90, free shp.
100 mm is $250.
Owned a 100 mm bino before, it's huge and heavy.
Need a tripod or something to hold it.

Once a bino gets beyond some size and magnification, a small telescope starts to look like a much better choice.

Correct!
Use to own a 70 mm bino, for a few years , very usable, can be hand held easy.
Now I just have a 10x50 bino, Nikon Made in Japan.
Very nice and versatile, it has good 3D effect too daytime.

Judging by his posts in this group, I wonder what, if anything, RichA
actually DOES like?

NO reason why they shouldn't be any good. My 16x80's aren't at all bad
but are now limited by my exit pupil rather than the front lens
aperture. I'd be better off with 16x70 's now lighter weight.

At 20x magnification you *will* need a tripod stand for them.

Even for those he will bleat that they are not as good as they used to
be. Perhaps Takahashi do something that he would find acceptable.

For less than the $250 sale price of that 25x100 one can get a 4.5" reflector that can use various eyepieces and filters, has a stable mount and a finder scope too. One of them even comes on a equatorial mount that can be adapted for some piggyback photography.

What I really want out of a bino is a wide field of view. The big binos don't generally provide that.

He probably doesn't recognize a good value when he sees one.
Maybe his 70mm bino was misaligned or not as solid as he would have wanted.
He didn't tell us what that 70mm was, so take his comment with a grain of salt.

I guess, some people are nuts about viewing the heaven with both eyes the same times?

The review that you posted (second message) seems to be pitching these binos to beginners. Imtermediate and advanced amateurs don't need to read that review.

For beginners, a small lower power bino will probably serve them better. If they already have such a bino, then their money will go farther with a telescope than with a larger binocular.
