A fountain of youth. Swimming just might be the closest we can get.

In a 32-year long study, professor Steven Blair (Univ. S.Carolina) discovered that swimming confers previously unsuspected health benefits far in excess of those provided by other forms of exercise.
In a study of >40,000 men, ages 20 to 90, he found that swimmers were 50 % less likely to die during the study period than were walkers or runners.

(thanks, Gareth Morgan & Terry Turner - we do know why --mv)
Swimming gives your brain a boost – but scientists don't know yet why it's better than other aerobic activities
https://www.yahoo.com/news/swimming-gives-brain-boost-scientists-120258918.html
.... Regular swimming has been shown to improve memory, cognitive function, immune response & mood.
Swimming may also help repair damage from stress, and forge new neural connections in the brain.
.... For centuries, people have been in search of a fountain of youth. Swimming just might be the closest we can get.
