Write-up: 6 weeks after the second Moderna vaccination, simply fell over and died; This case was received via the RA (Reference number: DE-PEI-202200136451) on 19-Sep-2022 and was forwarded to Moderna on 19-Sep-2022. This regulatory authority case was reported by a consumer and describes the occurrence of ACUTE MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION (6 weeks after the second Moderna vaccination, simply fell over and died) in an 84-year-old female patient who received mRNA-1273 (Spikevax) for COVID-19 immunization. Previously administered products included for COVID-19 immunisation: Spikevax COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine (nucleoside modified)COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna dispersion for injectionSpykeVax on 12-May-2021. Past adverse reactions to the above products included No adverse event with Spikevax COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine (nucleoside modified)COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna dispersion for injectionSpykeVax. On 01-Jun-2021, the patient received dose of mRNA-1273 (Spikevax) (Intramuscular) 1 dosage form. On 15-Jul-2021, the patient experienced ACUTE MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION (6 weeks after the second Moderna vaccination, simply fell over and died) (seriousness criterion death). The reported cause of death was Acute myocardial infarction. It is unknown if an autopsy was performed. The action taken with mRNA-1273 (Spikevax) (Intramuscular) was unknown. Write-up: death; This is a spontaneous report received from a contactable reporter(s) (Physician) from License Party. Other Case identifier(s): AE-004839 (Biontech). A 60-year-old male patient received BNT162b2 (COMIRNATY), on 08Jul2021 as dose 2, single (Lot number: FE6974) for covid-19 immunisation. The patient''s relevant medical history included: "hypertension" (unspecified if ongoing); "hernia", start date: 2013 (unspecified if ongoing). The patient''s concomitant medications were not reported. Vaccination history included: Covid-19 vaccine (1st dose, manufacturer unknown, lot# ABV 9317), for COVID-19 immunization. The following information was reported: DEATH (death) with onset Jul2021, outcome "fatal". Therapeutic measures were taken as a result of death. The patient date of death was Jul2021. Reported cause of death: "death". No autopsy was performed. Clinical course as follows: Approximately 4-5 days after the second vaccination the patient died. The ambulance service attempted resuscitation. A diagnosis as to why the patient died is not known. The attending physician would have wished for a post-mortem examination, which, however, was not performed. No "consumptive pre-existing conditions" (i.e. no tumour). Additionally, it was reported: In the course of two further reports, it was mentioned in a side sentence that events such as neuropathies and herpes also occurred 4 weeks after an vaccination. However, it was not possible to go into more detail here. It is unknown how many patients were involved. SUSPECT PRODUCT is under agreement with BIONTECH SE.; Sender''s Comments: Based on information provided, as a cautionary measure and for reporting purposes, the Company considers that a causal association between the event Death (Unknown cause of death) and the administration of the Covid - 19 vaccine BNT162B2 (COMIRNATY) cannot be completely excluded. The impact of this report on the benefit/risk profile of the Pfizer product is evaluated as part of Pfizer procedures for safety evaluation, including the review and analysis of aggregate data for adverse events. For one thing they're gathering statistics on many of the adverse events associated with vaccination and starting to discover those kinds of events occur with 10x the frequency in unvaccinated people who come down with the infection.
