This is what Russian regimes do to survive. They did that during
the collapse of the Soviet block, opened up the borders and all the
"troublemakers" - smarter people who could do more just immigrated.

Based on some not very scientific Youtube interviews, a lot of young
russians speak English and like Europe and don't approve of killing
Ukrainians. And want to leave. That enriches the remaining population
with Russian-only speakers and haters of the West and especially the
USA.

With an embargo on parts for planes and industries and everything, and
exodus of the smart people, it looks like a giant step backwards,
which will further impoverish and embitter the haters.

The embargo is hurting us all but we will have to endure for as long as
necessary. If parts become available anywhere on the planet the Russians
will buy a suitcase or two and smuggle in what they need for years

Russians really can't just go anywhere they want. Almost nobody wants them living in their country. Every country whose name ends in "-stan" hates Russians, and for good reason.

Looks like Kazakhstan is just a way to points south, Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, who are probably looking to fleece them. Then of course there's no love of Russians in Turkey. The whole world hates Russia and Russians.

Did Ukraine try to join NATO during his administration? Russia wasn't itching to invade Ukraine, they needed a good reason.

by some excellent intelligence work done by the KGB.
Schroeder got a highly paid job at Gazprom az a reward after he
got out of office.
Now "the Germans" will have to learn how to pick their leaders - again.

That was a right thing to do though I doubt he did it for other than
cash reasons. He would neither be able to see the big picture nor
people who had it would share it with him, those in the agencies

whole thing, including that Putin was mislead that the Ukrainians would
accept him as a "liberator" was the result of some more excellent
intelligence work done by the adversaries of the KGB.
If you can think of a better way to finish him off and have Russia
split into a few smaller, manageable pieces which are no global nuclear
