Good on Linda Hasenfratz, teaching calculus at Western, and teaching it far better than the idiot Dan Christensen, for Linda (may) teach it correctly by transforming all functions not already a polynomial into being a polynomial and then just use the Power Rule, which AP uses to teach High School kids the calculus. Maybe you didn't know, but quite often in mathematics, you require a conditional (one-way) statement, NOT a biconditional (two-way) statement.
