Strangely enough this has nothing to do with drones, that is a whole other FAA issue which has yet to mature. This is about two Federal agencies with different agenda, different financial direction, and different principle commercial interests the FAA, and the FCC.

The financial part is true enough. It's way easier for politicians to mess with a drone company than a massive telco.

Maybe the aero gear isn't quite up to its job, or some 5G mobile gear is
out of spec (QC) ?

Would it honestly kill these pathetic cellphone addicts to have to use say 4G at airports?

Scary that a 777 pilot could think that 5G interference is to to 'wokeness'.

What airline (I'll try a different one) ?

If you fully comprehended what he had to say, the issue is relates to full strength 5G interfering with C Band Radar altimeters on ILS landings at more than 80 US airports. ‘wokeness’ has nothing to do with this.
In Europe this is not an issue as 5G power around airports has been reduced to the point that the interference with ILS is a non-issue. However in the US Verizon, ATT, and the FCC have yet to even consider a work-around by limiting 5G in a 2 mile radius of US airports. This is not an issue with 4G, but a failure of the FCC& FAA to communicate in the wake of the FCC selling available bandwidth to the carriers for billions of $$ without regard to the safety of aircraft using ILS, and the passengers flying in those planes.

You will be just fine, he flies air freight, his is also an ex US Air Force heavy lift pilot, and Forest Service air attack pilot. He has the credentials, more so than most of us in this NG.

Perhaps valid if ‘woke’ in this context means the generational demand for 5G connectivity.
