It took 86 years and who knows how many suffering millions of people for these people to realize SS is inadequate.

This mysterious proviso for catch-up contributions:

another provision which would go into effect a year earlier would require anyone with compensation over $145,000 to “Rothify” their catch-up contributions

Maybe so they can't use death to evade taxes.

Cool. We can add another few hundreds of pages to the tax code. The
accountants love this stuff.

There was a rep from my area who would oppose legislation on the basis of that argument. He was voted out after one term.
