This one is going to be even more disastrous with continuous wind gusting at 50+ MPH and ground completely saturated- wet feet means stuff falls over in wind. And it's not ending with this one two punch, there are several other storms forming up behind this one. Life in mountainous areas will be quite risky.

Sounds like northern CA will be having weather normally associated with WA and OR.

Occasional floods are historic here; nothing new.

Lots of places around the world have had floods basically forever.

What we can do now is predict them reasonably well at the
couple-of-days time scale, and prepare and evacuate. Same with
hurricanes.
