Some idiot on SED said the pilot was doing just like "he was supposed to"- looking in the troubleshooting handbook to solve the issue. Really quite the height of stupidity to be doing that at 4,000 ft ground clearance with a decent rate of 30,000 ft/ min.

Not a lot of mention about the corruption in Boeing's slipshod training and certification of pilots to qualify them for flying. If you had to zoom in on a real root cause, you would start there.
