I have a feeling that his next demand is going to be a corridor for
access to Kaliningrad, and that means conflict with Poland and/or
Lithuania. Both are NATO members.

France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and Canada, announced Saturday
evening that they would expel certain Russian banks from SWIFT, the
high-security network that connects thousands of financial institutions

And the next day when your atm doesn’t work, and your bank’s website is
down, or your lights go out, guess what that means? I don’t think Putin is
going to be surprised by anything, and didn’t plan ahead.

Like most bullies, I think Putin is just going to keep pushing little by little until someone actually stands up to him. This could well be a route to Kaliningrad (see above), then a 'buffer' along the Baltic states and into Poland, Moldova (he's already got Belarus), Czech Republic, etc etc.

However, given his demented thought processes, I think that could light the fuse for something terrifying.
