The proposal is to discharge water contaminated with tritium. As this has a half life of
about 12 years, there will be virtually none of it left after a century. Suggesting that
this will contaminate the ocean for a million years is total nonsense.
There are lots of other natural sources of radiation in the oceans anyway. Not to mention
much nastier things like methyl mercury:

Not at all. The proposed emissions really are not a major problem. They will be massively
diluted and will decay fairly quickly. The half life of tritium is about 12 years.
