My run-in with the local wildlife - north coast of New South Wales.

The lizards (there were two) in question are called Goannas; a type of Monitor Lizard and I suppose vaguely related to the Komodo Dragon. These were about 1.7m / 5'9"-ish long. These ones live in the bush and are certainly well fed, foraging scraps from campers. One does not want to frighten them, as their escape response is to climb, and if you're the closest and highest thing around, they will climb YOU! Check out the claws.

I'd suggest downloading them before viewing, as my attempts to view straight from Dropbox were not great. Phone was a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Wow! 😎 Outstanding - both the creatures AND the filming! THANK YOU!

I do so wish we'd had mobile phones when I lived in Australia ('77 - '79)
