Relativity has no ether, so it does not require that light does not share the velocity of the source.

It's only 2/3 true.

1/3 is true in the sense that if we add various relativistic velocities,
taking care not to add observable velocities (Vo) but real velocities
(Vr), we see that not only can we exceed c, but that all speeds are
allowed to infinity.

2/3 is true in the sense that there is no ether, and nothing can stop the
particles from moving around in vacuum as they wish. The theory of the
ether and its small muscular fingers which enclose the particles and
prevent them from going faster, it's a pipe.

3/3 on the other hand, what is true is that the anisochrony of the
universe prevents us from seeing, observing, things (particles or rockets)
moving faster than c. So the particles do it (they do what they want) but
we can't observe them as such.

I gave the two equations bearing on the general addition of observable
velocities and bearing on the general addition of real velocities. I keep
asking my readers to kindly differentiate between the two notions.

Einstein changed his mind on the aether. He said it might not
be necessary in the beginning. But in the end he said it
was absolutely necessary because it was his space time.

Yes, space-time is ether. We still don't need it.
