"In my administration I'm going to enforce all laws concerning the protection of classified information," Trump said during his campaign in 2016. "No one is above the law." As reported by Reuters.

https://twitter.com/i/status/1667118247064346626

I guess Trmp finally got tired of winning.

He said no such thing. He said "...enforce all lors..."

Obviously alluding to Hillary and her scandalous disregard for information security.

The indictment of the Guamanian is a criminal farce, obviously no mens rea present. The Dems make themselves look bad when they do that.

Next time he's President, he can pardon himself.

It's an executive level department.

"The department is headed by the U.S. attorney general, who reports directly to the president of the United States and is a member of the president's Cabinet."

Biden determines what they will and will not prosecute.

Justice isn't the only one, there are other departments, such as EPA, with very critical sounding responsibilities, all of which blow in the political winds of the sitting administration. An example is Obama blocking any attempt to prosecute McKesson for highly suspect opioid distribution, when DEA had ample evidence they were gaming the government real time auditing/ monitoring software overseeing their transactions. Making deliveries to addresses that are parking lots is one big giveaway. They did go after FedEx in a big way, fining the individual executive management $600M, but it all blew over pretty fast.

Uh-huh:

The Republicans are reluctant to endorse this - or rather, since the "never Trump" republicans have made themselves scarce - the spineless rump of fellow travellers who now call the themselves the Republican Party. They will ride Trump's popularity with people who are too silly to recognise as the creep he is.

And has he interfered with the function of the Justice Department in any way? If not, why mention it?

Reporting structures has no bearing on the independence of an organization. You can try to make an agrument to the contrary but geee, that is ignoring the founding principles of the democracy.

You can infer that Biden has impose some sort of pressure on the independent organization, but you are relying on the integrity of the executive and judical branch heads to maintain independence. Something Trump and his cronies failed that premise from a middle school civics lesson.

lets just rewrite the laws that govern our democracy while we are at it. It will make our inuendos so much more belivable, even though they are factually incorrect.
Innocent till proven guilty - Trumps big mouth and ego helped make the case..
I work in the world of classified documents. No one, not even the president can change the classification of a document. Typical Trump, rewriting the rules and duping the American public to think his version is right.
I can't wait to see him in orange for 20 years.

What exactly do you think this shows? I don't see anything in the article that relates to what is being discussed.

Justice department is NOT an independent agency. As long as the president has the authority to dismiss the director, it is political. The president will fire an uncooperative director and replace them with someone else.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independent_agencies_of_the_United_States_govern

Some of those are under tight political control, probably through their budgets.

Making deliveries to addresses that are parking lots is one big giveaway. They did go after FedEx in a big way, fining the individual executive management $600M, but it all blew over pretty fast.

It was very clear. DEA would know a thing or two about collecting evidence for prosecuting drug crimes.

“This is the best case we’ve ever had against a major distributor in the history of the Drug Enforcement Administration,” said Schiller, who recently retired as assistant special agent in charge of DEA’s Denver field division after a 30-year career with the agency.

Trump administration turned around and sole sourced nationwide distribution of the COVID vaccines to McKesson. They must make helluva big campaign contributions. To their credit, Pfizer refused to touch them, doing their own distribution.

Corporate and the influential politicians almost certainly regarded the people caught up in the addiction as no loss.

The Republicans are reluctant to endorse this - or rather, since the "never Trump" republicans have made themselves scarce - the spineless rump of fellow travellers who now call the themselves the Republican Party. They will ride Trump's popularity with people who are too silly to recognise as the creep he is.
