the lab, but for some other reason than the lab work, is essentially

That's silly. The 'multiple people' interviewed weren't privy to any real information sources in China.
It's just a wild guess, and not a good one. READ THE ARTICLE for fact-checking, you'll
find there's no facts from Asia cited.

Virus evolution happens naturally, and there's likely many decades of
such evolution in COVID that just hasn't left traces. No one knows.
Probably, the "multiple people" are folk who seek to attach events
to criminal behavior, and do so (with monotonous regularity) in cases
where no misfeasance is involved.

They get clicks (money-invoved), but never name names (because it'd be libel) or quote

Nobody had an incentive to release it, and probably nobody was smart

I don't believe it was the case either, but there's certainly a non-zero
chance.

The Novichok poisonings in the UK were carried out just six miles from a
government 'defence' research establishment. Probably the Russians who
probably did it probably took that into account to deflect suspicion.

But who will ever know for sure?
