Russia doesn't seem to be winning. It isn't making much progress anywhere and it is getting pushed back along most of the front (if not all that far or fast).

Russia did invade, which is why the war is being fought on Ukranian territory.

This is pure Russian propaganda. Long before the actual invasion they were formenting rebellion in some Ukranian provinces, mainly by sneaking in Russian army units poorly disguised as rebels.

was shot down by the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade of the Russian Federation which just happened to be operating in the Ukraine at the time. Rebels don't make Buk surface-to-air missiles in their backyards.
