Joe Lara who played Tarzan killed in plane crash.

That headline led me to look up the language of his Mangani Ape tribe
to find out how to say Tarzan is down or dead.

But is there any utility in using such a conlang?

Dingbat,

Asking whether or not there is utility in using a conlang depends on the person asking and the purpose.

In our world, language and folktales have long preserved one another throughout human history.
When a fiction writer creates a conlang to provide further detail/ material background to their stories, I would
argue that it is of great utility. Stories are essential to humanity, so making them more believable should be commended.

To use that conlang in the expression of ideas outside the fictional world, the utility becomes less clear (as it would be unclear
to utilize a foreign language to order your pizza) - but I do think that, if used respectively, it pays homage to the story, character, world etc.
In many cases, take J.R.R Tolkien for example, the conlang is a product of many years and should be considered works of art however unique.
