India now credibly has the third most advanced deep-space program in the world.

People have been putting things on the moon for over 60 years. It
turns out to not be very useful.

India can do this again by just applying money, which they can take
from about 10 million hungry kids.

All is relative joe
US debt is bought by China and Japan, it exists because of them! :-)
The byethen creep kills thousands by creating wars and selling weapons to countries that burn their soldiers in wars they cannot win.
And still many in the US are homeless, hungry.
there is no good medical system, US allows isreal to do genocide on Palestinians.
And US cannot even do a Moon return, even less a Mars return.
US has become Just a third world country...
(Did I mention) now the sanctioned Huawei selling the new Huawei smartphones (much smarter than any the US made ones)
have 7 nm chips: made in China.
There goes you chip exports!
Threatening MY country ASML not to sell to China f*cking up OUR export.
Creeps

EUV lithography was developed by Cymer in San Diego.

ASML bought Cymer to get the technology.

The big semiconductor and software and analog inventions still tend to
come from the USA. ARM is an exception, but RiscV may kill off ARM.

RISC mostly originated from UC Berkeley.

Probably not.

> The byethen creep kills thousands by creating wars and selling weapons to countries that burn their soldiers in wars they cannot win.

In Jan's cloud-cuckoo-land. Saner people blame Putin for invading the Ukraie in the first place.

> And still many in the US are homeless, hungry. there is no good medical system, US allows Israel to do genocide on Palestinians.

The Palestinians provide a safe haven for Hamas, which wasn't wise. Killing off some Palestinians while going after the Hamas murderers who killed a lot of Israeli's isn't technically genocide.

> And US cannot even do a Moon return, even less a Mars return.

They certainly did few Moon returns a while back.

> US has become just a third world country...

Second world

> (Did I mention) now the sanctioned Huawei selling the new Huawei smartphones (much smarter than any the US made ones) have 7 nm chips: made in China.

ASML isn't selling the lastest lithography gear to China. The Chinese have to settle for 7 nm, and the yield isn't great.,

> There goes you chip exports!

Jan doesn't know enough,

> Threatening MY country ASML not to sell to China f*cking up OUR export. Creeps.

ASML knows which side their bread is buttered on. Sell one machine to China - watch the Chinese sell cheaper copies to the rest of the world.

I dunno
was reading this:
https://arstechnica.com/space/2023/12/nasas-asteroid-mission-struck-its-target-but-then-dodged-a-bullet/
One would think that for such an important project switching 2 critcal wires would be no-no....

This generation?

Complicated projects always have drop-offs, and it's a struggle to get the program managers to let the engineers and technicians spend the time exhaustively cross-checking everything.
