IOW, the endurance running nonsense is most unscientific idea thinkable (flat-footed running after antelopes... :-DDD): there's no doubt H.erectus frequently dived, most likely mostly for shellfish: large brain, stone tools, pachyosteosclerosis, flat feet, broad body, island colonizations, platycephaly etc.etc.
