If my bank says "within 24 working hours" at 4pm on Thursday, when is that? Should I assume they work 8 hours a day, therefore it's 3 working days? Or do they mean "within 24 hours as long as it's working days" which would be 1 working day?

Good question. I would lean towards the three-day interpretation, help
being hard to find these days; but maybe they meant the other, or maybe
they work twelve hours a day.

I hope you will report back and let us know what your bank meant.

When you reply to "Commander Kinsey," some of whose questions
are legitimate, you attract the Peeler troll.

IMO it would be cowardly to give in to that kind of manipulation.

Being, like you, without a killfile, I simply delete those postings
unseen. I object more strongly to the unimaginitive monotony of the
abuse than to the abuse itself. I take it that you conntinue to tell on
them.

when my daughter was thinking of buying a flat which had been local
authority owned, a reply from that local authority seemed stuckm but should
have been replied to within 5 working days. Answer: Miss X only works one
day a week, so it could be 5 weeks before you get a reply.
