The outer core is liquid, so while the differential rotation
can be expected to be reduced over time, it won’t be
as much as if the outer core was solid.

If the Earth is a permanent magnet, how do you explain
the regular reversals of the dipole component of the
magnetic field, and indeed, how do you explain the
non-dipole components?

The outer and inner Earth iron is rotating together.
Liquid does not change that. And there is no proof
that iron in the Earth is liquid.

Yes there is, seismic S waves do not propagate through
the outer core, only P waves.
