Anybody know of any basic smartphone holders. Doesn't have to be virtual-
reality, just something to comfortably hold and shade the smartphone in front
of your eyes.

FWIW... I'm wary of Chinese rubber/plastic, especially when persistently in
skin contact. That's why I'd like to find a brand name product if that's
possible.

Do you guys know what you're doing, or are you just hacking?
