Knowing something about electronics, this is interesting...

DJI, a drone maker, is blaming Android for draining current from its drone
controller during use. Here's a statement from a DJI website moderator...

Does that sound legitimate?

Communication doesn't require 500 mA. So the Android smartphone arbitrarily
sucks a half an amp from the connected device? For what purpose, punishment?

The current/power coming from the drone controller is not utilized, since it
charges the phone.

Unless DJI is missing a way around it, apparently that's what the
seemingly unsophisticated protocol requires...

There is no real need to suck drone controllers dry, considering the fact
the smartphone battery is being charged during use.
