Xiaomi can fully charge a phone in the time it takes an iPhone to go from 99% to 100%
https://www.androidpolice.com/2021/05/31/xiaomi-can-fully-charge-a-phone-in-the-time-it-takes-an-iphone-to-go-from-99-to-100/

The 200W wired charging takes only three minutes (you read that right)
to hit the 50% mark, while it achieves 100% in only eight minutes.

And you just automatically believe whatever Xiaomi's marketing
department writes, do you Arlen?

Also, even your own cite says:

'Either way, it's going to be a while before we actually see these new
charging technologies make it to commercial phones. But given the rapid
pace at which companies are moving, I wouldn't be surprised to see it
ship before the end of 2021.'

So let's just wait and see, shall we?

For people who never sleep?

Regardless of what's possible, charging a battery slowly is better.

Don't leave your Chinese communist battery in the charger all the time, they
in fact do tend to explode. Happened in my Motorola G4 Plus. Also happened
with some drone batteries. Charging them superfast makes that potential
problem worse. If you don't need a superfast charge, use a low amp output USB
charger or plug it into your computer.

Yeah, leave to the Chinese to ignore customer safety from exploding
batteries that overheat and either burst or go aflame. Faster charging
means generating more heat, and heat is the nemesis of lithium which
makes it catch fire. I have to wonder if Xiaomi is spec'ing their
batteries to disable thermal runaway to allow the higher temperatures
cause by excessive charge rates.

https://www.gizchina.com/2021/04/30/redmi-note-9-pro-pro-max-caught-fire-and-xiaomi-blames-the-user/

Yeah, they warranty their phones until you use them. With them sitting
in a drawer and unused, sure they're warranty them. They've had a
history of their phones overheating, and now they're just going to
exascerbate the problem.

https://www.notebookcheck.net/Another-Xiaomi-smartphone-goes-up-in-flames-this-time-a-Redmi-Note-9-Pro.536489.0.html
"Death, taxes, and Xiaomi phones going up in flames - the tree
certainties in life."

Sorry, Xiaomi doesn't get to define physics. Faster charging will
generate more heat. So, what might they recommend later? Dipping the
phone in a glass of water to avoid "user induced abuse"?

Charging level has a hysterisis: just because the meter shows 100%
doesn't mean the battery is actually charged to 100%. Bouncing the
indicated charge level to 100% doesn't mean the battery has as many
coulombs as possible for up-time.

They aren't keen on customer privacy, either:

and it's an old problem:

Well, sure. This kind of news happens pretty much every month, has for a
few years now. Revolutionary new technology, instant charging of all
batteries. Never to be released to the public because it doesn't work
outside the lab or even exist.

Funny note, sometimes fuel cells have been touted as a portable power
source. Well, the operational temperature of decent fuel cells is
600-1200 degrees C so not exactly something you'd want in your pocket.

It really depends on the design and the fuels involved. Yes, there are some
extremely high-temperature types which use gaseous input and (usually)
ceramic dielectric. But there are roughly body-temperature types which
(usually) use liquid fuels and a polymer dielectric. You gets what you pays
for.
