When I travel internationally I've been using Knowroaming.com for
international roaming (unless and until I can buy an prepaid foreign SIM
card). They've been transitioning to eSIMs, with the cost for service
for their physical SIM going way up.

I have no phones that support an eSIM.

I don't need a 5G phone, or a fancy phone, just a 4G LTE unlocked phone.
So far, the Pixel 4A is the best I can find with a net cost of
$336-150-15+15+15=$201. This is on Verizon Visible service. There is a
$150 rebate, another $15 rebate, then you have to pay for two months of
service at $15 per month.

I was also looking at the Samsung A52 5G, but the Samsung web site is
unclear as to whether or not it supports eSIM "*Use of eSIM on Galaxy
device may be enabled by software update or disabled in some markets
where it is purchased. Availability of eSIM mobile plan may vary
depending on carrier."
