This has been raised before and I was ignored then -- because I am so
intimidatingly brilliant, no doubt -- but doesn't this suggest an Aquatic
Ape origins of agriculture?

Let's back up a tad...

Agriculture stems from proto agriculture.

People ate plants, yes, but eventually they stored plants. They collected
plants not as foods, not right away, but to store, to preserve for later use.
And it was this important breakthrough that made PLANTING crops a
thing.

There was no point in growing a field of grain until sometimes AFTER you
figured out that you can store grain to feed yourselves and/or your
animals through the lean months...

Göbekli Tepe

Google it. There's a lot of speculation but the correct answer is proto
agriculture. The area was rich in wild grains. There were *Lots!*

Actually, there would have been no problem feeding a tribe or clan for
a year, off the grains, if they would be harvested and stored...

AND this behavior is known from later cultures.

AND you are telling us that the very first glimpse at this behavior, this
proto agricultural lifestyle, is associated with the waterside population.

Thus, the waterside group(s) developed proto agriculture, not just
exploiting marine plant life but drying it, storing it for future use!

Human most important food is rice = water grain:
"In general, between 3000 & 5000 L of water are needed to produce 1 kg of rice."
Human evolution = savanna??? :-DDD
Running after antelopes????? :-DDDDD

Rice is very old, the farming of same, but it likely took over in
Asia around 3,600 years ago, after the eruption of Thera which
apparently dumped ridiculous amounts of rain on China -- enough
to down off any other crop.

People who grew rice did fine, people who grew something else
starved to death...

But the popularity of rice probably followed the monsoons.
