For home use, the Asian butane stoves (i.e.

market, and the fuel canisters are very inexpensive. These are usually
used for hot pot.

Cooking is easy in a power failure. Refrigeration is what is difficult.
While there are propane and natural gas refrigerators, they are rare
except in RVs. Growing up in Florida, one neighbor across the street had
a natural gas refrigerator. During hurricanes we brought frozen food
over to their house since the neighborhood was new and had the rare, at
that time, luxury of piped-in natural gas.

In a former life I investigated over 5000 traffic accidents prior to
retirement. I saw lots of dead people on the streets over the years.

The last vehicle I repaired had a spark coil, mechanical distributor,
relay type voltage regulator and a generator. The tube type radio also
had a vibrator. Wait, not that kind of vibrator...

I never want to do that again. I asked my son to replace the front
brake pads on the Corolla, although I did that on my 80 Sentra and know
how easy it is. I just don't want to squat down and bend over any more :-(

Sounds like our 1960 Ford station wagon in which we crossed the country
(and back) several times. Ate generators, but they were cheap and easy
to replace. Ultimately went to the knackers because the springs were
shot and we couldn't get new ones.

Replaced the head gasket on the 1970 LTD. I had to ask hubby to torque
down the head bolts, I wasn't strong enough. My friend Elaine broke her
MG in half, bought a new body and transferred the good stuff all by
herself. She's my hero!

Multi-purpose device. Hubby still has the big tube amplifiers he built
when he was in school.

KT88s? I built two amplifiers with KT88s a few years after graduating
from college.

They're long gone, though.

No idea and I'm not going to ask. BIG tubes, though. His mid-range
speakers are Navy surplus from a ship's PA system.
