Yesterday was a crazy weather day here; completely overcast in/on the task area and fairly windy.
The task was up to the north back to the south, up to the NE and back home.
All legs were pointing at a paved airport which kept the stress level down.
I had to take several weak climbs and suffered for it with a 4th place finish.
I was surprised to see some of the speeds pilots posted!
I wanted to stay high and tried hard not to have to have to dig out down low in the wind, I managed that.
Today, too me anyway, looks more normal, probably blue but light winds with thermal tops around 8-9k, maybe.
Yesterday:
SPORTS CLASS:
Tim Martin 1st
Doug Easton 2nd
Mark Stanfield 3rd

STANDARD 15 METER
Tom Dixon 1st
Brian Case 2nd
Stu Larimore 3rd

OPEN 18 METER
Noel Wade 1st
Mike Bamberg 2nd
Sean Franke 3rd
These scores are what are posted at the clubhouse this morning; the SSA site might be different.
Only 2 towplanes yesterday, they fixed one Pawnee and then the other one developed a fuel selector valve leak, there working on them- it would be great up to full strength.
For those who havent been here, Ephrata is a awesome place. The whole scene is great! No dirt, asphalt ramp and tie outs. Lots of airports around.
Good Mexican food. Super nice clubhouse and facility. Plenty of room.
