I recently installed a new Mecaplex canopy for my LS 1-f which was marked for an LS 4.

They are the same.

I am sure that the canopies are the same for the LS 6, 7 and 8 as well.

Rakel, where were you able to get the canopy from and estimated cost?

Ed Hollestelle posted an ad on GliderSource a few years ago and I answered. He told me that he was clearing out old stuff that had accumulated from his past dealership.
It cost me about $3500 and this was only slightly cheaper than a new Mecaplex canopy, but I really saved on shipping because Ed brought it down with him to the Seniors at Seminole Lake Glider Port.

I do not think that Ed has a stock pile of canopies. Just watch the advertisments.

Aircraft Windshield in LA lists many units available, but they don’t list any gliders! I know for a fact they have a PIK-20 mold, but that is quite long and narrow. A canopy made for Standard Cirrus or the like, may be close to your LS-3? The sides can be pulled in about an inch or so, if the top curve looks acceptable?
Anybody know of other glider canopies made by Aircraft Windshield? The last price I know about was around ~ $1500 bucks!

JJ, I think the problem is the length of the LS-3 canopy, I am going to measure again tomorrow and confirm. When is JJ leaving for Vero? OBTP
