Nice! Too bad we have to reduce the file size to a ridiculously small
number. With a file size under 900K I got an error stating that the
file could be no larger than 1.02Mb. I had to reduce it below 100K IIRC
before I could post my last picture.

But no HTML... Bummer.

OH, and I won't be moving to google groups just to get HTML and a watchdog.

The 1MB figure from eternal-september is accurate, but if you try to
post a picture, the binary gets converted to ASCII and expands the
size.  I've been able to post a 700KB picture, but that's about as big
as you can go.

I snuck in some pseudo-html on my posting, three ascii characters making
a smiley face gets displayed on my computer as an emoji, so it looks
fancier than plain text.  You managed some bold text in a Mar 10 posting.

But none of this really matters, the great unwashed masses who try to
read a usenet group using a crappy Google interface never even see the
postings with pictures or html in them, so it makes for a rather
disjointed discussion. Does little good to post a picture if most people
can't see it.
