Quick.
I was just texted a photo of a barcode on a package and asked to look it up.
Default app can't read a picture on the phone or in messages.
What barcode scan app will read a photo on the phone?

Also, besides reading the barcode, it tells you the type of barcode
which can be very helpful if you're trying to generate the same barcode
to use for other purposes.

I wonder if there is such an app for iPhone that can read barcodes from
stored images. I saw one that works only on QR codes.

of course there are, and many of them. the ability to read barcodes is
part of ios itself, making it trivial for any app to implement such
functionality.
