A couple of Stemme owners just flew to Burketown Queensland in hopes of
riding the Morning Glory. The longest flight, with multiple stops, was
1,258 NM. The "shorter", non-stop flight, was a mere 1,084 NM.

I can't even imagine attempting that journey, across The Outback, with
the glider in a trailer. The longest repositioning flight I've done in
my Stemme has been around 700 NM. Still, I did that in a a short day
with a pleasant stop for lunch, and the 5 hours of flight time used just
a bit over 20 gallons of car gas. I've made that trip towing my
previous glider and the drive time is around 18 hours including stops.

I wish them well and hope to see more pictures!

Check this one out too: https://www.klaus-ohlmann.com/pictures-videos/
(the Everest flight.

He flew the DLR research Stemme from Germany to Pokara in Nepal and back
after the project, (meteorological research over the Kali Ghandaki Valley,
which runs through the Himalaya between the Annapurnas and Daulagiri to
the Jomoson, on the northern side of the Himilayas). But, on a rest day he
borrowed the Stemme and flew an out and return from Pokara to Everest
(290km each way as the crow flies). At least the turnpoint was easy to
recognise!
