Since there are not too many L33 Solo in the US and even fewer winch operations, you may want to post that question on the European soaring server(s).
Disclaimer: I have not flown a L33 but given the fact that it was designed in Europe, where winch launching is still the dominant launch method for gliders, I can't imagine that they designed it with any bad habits which would scare the crap out of a low time pilot.
