In another thread, moments ago, I had suggested to philo based on his
reservations about signing into Google apps non-Google replacements.
*What apps should I put on an old Android Pinebook laptop*
<https://groups.google.com/g/comp.mobile.android/c/AMI43QB_dAI>

Since I test all my suggestions to others on Usenet, I brought up Chrome,
for example (after un-disabling it of course), and the first thing it asked
me before it did anything was to agree to some agreement that the FOSS
replacement doesn't ask you to agree to.

Likewise most of you agree to something when subscribing to YouTube
channels and for downloading apps off of the Google Play Store repository.

Since I don't use Google apps on my unrooted Android 12 device, I don't
sign those agreements that most of you apparently sign upon first use.
GMail, Chrome, YouTube, Google Play Store, etc.

As an added benefit, _none_ of the FOSS privacy-aware replacements to those
classic Google apps is they don't contain Google Services Framework code.

Yet I have not only the same full functionality that you have - but more.

The only differences (in terms of privacy) are
a. I don't sign those Google agreements that most of you sign, and,
b. I don't use apps that have Google Services Framework code linked in.

Given the functionality is the same, and that the tools are available to
all... it's worth fleshing out what you're giving away that I'm not.

Hence... the question for this thread is...
*What are you agreeing to?* (that I'm not agreeing to)
--
Posted out of the goodness of my heart to disseminate useful information
which, in this case, is to flesh out what the Google agreement entails.
