Well, as far as I know, chemical propulsion is the only way to escape Earth's gravity. Of course, once you are released from Earth's gravity, then other methods of propulsion become more viable.

I don't understand how you can possibly know how UFOs are powered, whether that be chemical or otherwise. A OFO, after all, is just an Unidentified Flying Object... which could be a truck over the horizon that is being reflected by the atmosphere...

I recently (last week or so) saw a doco where there was being research
carried out (at CERN, I think) into particle-engines which would be able
to accelerate "rockets" up to about 0.2 light speed. (Sorry, don't have
a reference)

Normally I do, because of the vast interstellar distances, but there
are many that don't. Alien visits, past, present and future, are
practically impossible.

I don't know, except it is definitely not chemical rocket propulsion.

UFOs have been observed and rockets, would have readily been readily
apparent ( roaring noise, etc. ) , and that was never reported.
