Depleted uranium is not a nuclear weapon. U-238 has a half life of 4.6 billion years which means that the level of radioactivity is so low that it is essentially harmless to humans.

The reason for its use is because it has three times the density of iron and that makes it an excellent armor penetrator.

Over 700,000 tons of DU exist and there is very little other uses for it.

Which would be a classic pyrrhic victory, we know and the Russians know
that the prevailing winds are North Westerlies which blow over central
Russia, fallout from a nuclear stike is not good for a nations health
even if the western powers dont decide Russis is too dangerous NOT to
destroy.

Drop nuclear weapons on NATO territory and at the very least Moscow,
Crimea and St Peterburg become a set of overlapping radioactive wastelands.
