Well, with the cogsets getting wider and wider, and the derailleurs made to handle narrower chains, I just can't set up my 11 speed so it won't rub in the extremes. I'm pretty convinced that that slight noise of rubbing means that there is more loss from those gears than gain of he lower gearing.

My Shimano 6800 11 speed has zero rub in any gear with the exception that if I go 34-11. Then I need to to hit the trim or it will rub. The 50-28 spins fine not need to use the trim at all. I actually ride in the 50-28 I don't consider that cross chaining and worthless. My question is if the first encounters with the 12 electronic will be fine and not have issues as been know to happen with new tech.

I imagine that the Record or Chorus would trim fine, nut the Centaur doesn't there are the right number of clicks but they seem to be in the wrong spots. Since the rest of the group is such an improvement, I'm really not complaining.
