The author of the google comparison between iOS & Android needs to consider
adding these items which I will add to as I find other missing items.

I have only briefly skimmed the document so they may already be there.
But if not, the author should consider adding these three items to it.

In iOS, a user can only customize some app icons (Android can modify all).
In OS, a user can't put an app icon in multiple places (Android can).
In iOS, custom icons can't open any public activity page (Android can).

I had forgotten to add the iPhone people and I had forgotten to thank Alan
for bringing up these points above where iOS can customize SOME app icons
but not all.

In addition, I thank Chris for pointing out the limitations in item 51a.
"51a. Create icons that give direct access to specific websites, documents,
or photos"

He says in that summary that it's about 'creating icons' and that those
icons you create give you (direct - which I'd call "one-tap") access to
urls, documents or photos (where photos are just documents - so he really
should be calling the boarding pass a "file" and instead, he should be
adding folders and specific pages inside of any app that is installed on
the phone).

This is what I suggest to the author that item 51a should say.

"51a. Create custom icons that give single-tap access to specific websites,
folders, files, emails or public pages inside any app (including settings)
and customize existing icon names and images and place any of these custom
icons in multiple locations on your homescreen or inside any number of
folders on your homescreen."

The paragraph on item 51a currently says this.

"51a. Create icons that give direct access to specific websites, documents,
or photos. Are you about to get on a plane and are frantically searching
for your boarding pass that is either in some pdf file, a JPG,l or is in
some e-mail? On Android you can create an icon that links directly to that
document and place that icon on your home screen. See How to Create a
Shortcut File on Android Home Screen - Max Dalton Tutorials. This is an odd
omission from iOS since it's a heavily requested feature that would not
cost anything (in terms of hardware) to implement; it's possible that it is
a patented Android feature."

What I suggest the author change that to is something like this.
"51a. Create custom icons that give single-tap access to specific websites,
folders, files or public pages inside any app (including settings) and
customize existing icon names and images and place them in multiple
locations on your homescreen or inside a folder on your homescreen.

For example, you are about to get on a plane and are frantically searching
for a file such as your boarding pass that is in some folder, or on some
web site or in in some pdf file, a JPG, or is in some e-mail, or even is
available perhaps through a specific page (activity) deep inside an app.

On Android you can create an icon that links directly to that folder or
file or email or page inside an app (even hidden pages!) and place that
custom icon on your homescreen in any number of locations (such as inside a
travel folder on the homescreen).
