The professional peloton uses these things. I have them on most of my bikes because, I started using Carbon Fiber bars and several times they were slippery enough to rotate in the stem. That was most definitely NOT a fun thing to do. Although I was able to avoid a crash it was not by much. Integrated bars and stems cures that problem. The latest one's also allow you to completely internalize any cables or wires. But the SRAM wireless allows you to have no wires to hide and the hydraulic brake lines are so little problem that it is sort of ridiculous to internalize them for the 3" from the bar to the entrance on the side of the downtube.

Interestingly enough Hambini was asked whether aero or round bars were better and he said that round bars would be simply because you can rotate them to any position and not change their angle of attack. Him being an aerodynamics specialist does give his opinions some weight. And one one of my bikes I DO have a small diameter aluminum bar and I like that MUCH better than the integrated bars. This could be because I just can't get the bars to fit properly whereas I can easily change the stem on a round bar, but something else appears to be going on since my upper arms get really sore during my rides despite the actual measurements of the integrated bar and the round aluminum bar being nearly identical. Clearly I need to return to the original setups. That will be fairly easy since everyone is copying the pros and aluminum bars are for sale everywhere a penny a lb.
