Today in Central Illinois is was 30 degrees when I got up. The coldest day yet. No wind though to speak of. Did about 1 mile warm up on the treadmill and then headed outside for the ride. Pretty good with only wind at about 5 mph. My feet did not go numb but it does now ingrain in my riding that winter/fall has arrived and it will not be as simply as it was.

Looking out of the window, foggy and probably get some drizzle. 6 C and no wind. Little depressing but it is what it is. It is the time of the year. Time for my winter shoes. Lets go for a ride, it is my day off. Will take my gravel bike with road tires now.

Beside some drops at the end it stayed dry. Bonus. Shortish ride 66 km, 18 m of climbing ;-) Extremely quiet on the road.

I waited until 11 am hoping the overcast would lift but it didn't so I did a fast flat 26 miles (42km) I cut it that short because it was a test ride on the light bike and the titanium seat post continued to rotate regardless of tension and it is now to the point where any additional tension would break the locking screw so I had to finish the ride with an awful saddle. Rather than fight that POS any longer I simply ordered a seat post with a proper locking mechanism for 7 x 9 saddle rails. It looks like today might be descent weather so I might take a ride since Thursday is predicted rain.
