I don't recall if you have specifically said southern California, the LA area, is particularly evil or liberal run by Democrats. Someone will have to use their better computer skills than me to look up if you specifically criticized LA or not.

I'm ashamed to say that I chased away Jay Beattie though I have been unable to get him to respond to email so perhaps something more dreadful occurred than my insulting him. I would rather he was insulted into leaving than some accident involving the injuries he incurred trying to ski with his son.

More of that really bright analysis. When Greg Lemond was born in sourthern California they had 2/3rds the population they have now and controlled immigration. California had Ronald Reagan and his pro-business government during the time when Lemond came to fame. The Democrats have followed the anti-business socialist bullshit that Frank loves so much and now, business are going broke everywhere in California. Hollywood hasn't made a cent in 15 years and all of the people with money have left the state for better climbs and places where hard working producers are appreciated. The streets of San Francisco are now covered in human feces and the first thing a business does before it can open is wash the entire front of their front, spray is down with Clorox and wash the GUTTERS out to the main drains. Drug addicts are literally everywhere and you can watch them shooting up where ever you look. The Tourist trade is GONE. Alcoholism is the only trade making money. The Chinese have bought up most of the commercial land, torn down almost new buildings and put up buildings twice the size or larger. They all have "For Rent" signs out in front showing that Asians don't seem to have any better sense than the Democrats. Like my UPS driver friend who watched California grow 50% during the time he was working he is sure that these buildings will all be filled.

While ignorant people like you believe that the market is growing, you don't even understand that it is only increasing with the rate of inflation.

But that's OK Russell, you can shoot yourself in the foot all that you like.. I can just ride my bike and smile at people like you. Your total lack of understanding of what is going on is truly humorous.

All 40 million live in Sacramento, the Bay area, LA, and San Diego. There are only about 618 people living in northern California. Northern California doesn't really exist. Its just a fantasy land created by map makers to put some distance between San Fran and Oregon.

He increased the gas taxes twice to "fix the roads" and the ONLY roads that were repaired were in the rich neighborhoods that supported him. Even in the more conservative neighborhoods he did not repair the roads even with huge and dangerous potholes. This is you loony beliefs about the world around you.

> I will tell you. I don't care. I have more than enough money to be comfortable for the rest of my life. It is YOU and FRANK that are in deep shit. And you'll discover that soon enough. Since 1980 I've never made less than $125,000 a year and until getting married it all went into the investments.

$125,000 per year. OR MORE. Wow. 42 years ago if you made that kind of money you were considered the richest of the rich. Back then $100k was BIG BIG money.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_income_in_the_United_States
Chart in the above link says in 1980 a white european american (I guess you fit that description?) had a median income of $13,328. So you made 9 times as much. Wow.

https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/MEPAINUSA672N
This one by the Fed Reserve says 1980 had $23,826 Real Median Personal Income in the United States. So you were only 5 times higher.

> Until Obama caused a 62% loss of the value of my investments.

YOUR investments. I am glad you clarified that. Everyone else on earth made money when Obama was in office. All the stock markets went up up up up up up. Total, S&P 500, Nasdaq, etc. Just you lost money.

> I am nearly back to ground zero. I keep forgetting that you haters disagree that the Democrat controlled Congress increased the national debt by 1.5 trillion before Obama was elected

Tommy, are you forgetting that a REPUBLICAN president was in office before Obama got the job? Apparently you did forget. The way the USA government works is all spending has to be approved by the House, and maybe the Senate too, I forget how that law works exactly. But then the president has to sign the spending bill. So Bush 2, the Republican president, signed all this national debt into affect. Danged Democrat congress controlling the Republican president!

> and then during Obama the National Debt grew at double the rate it did for the previous 12 years.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/187867/public-debt-of-the-united-states-since-1990/
I will agree that the rate of change in national debt did take an up turn in growth during Obama. And Trumpy continued the trend in his first few years. And then in 2020, HOLY F--KING CHRIST ALMIGHTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, Trump increased the debt so fast that I am worried they are going to run out of zeroes to calculate the debt total. WOW!!!!!!!!!

> And when Biden was elected the National Debt immediately took a 7 trillion dollar jump and is now at $30 Trillion

Tommy, the link above shows national debt increased by about $1.5 trillion during Biden's first year, 2021. It was TRUMPY who increased the debt by $4.2 trillion in 2020 alone. I guess you forgot, but Trump was unelected in November 2020 and did not leave office until January 20, 2021. So it was Trump who blew the sh-t out of the national debt in his final year.

which YOU are going to have to repay. My investments are protected against the taxes that are going to make you homeless.

> More of that really bright analysis. When Greg Lemond was born in sourthern California they had 2/3rds the population they have now and controlled immigration. California had Ronald Reagan and his pro-business government during the time when Lemond came to fame.

Greg Lemond was born in 1961. He now lives in the Democrat state of Minnesota. Reagan was governor of California from 1967 to 1975. That was during Lemond's early teen years. I suppose he came to fame very early. Between age 6 and 14? California had 16 million people in 1960. It now has 39 million people. I'd rewrite your sentence to say California had about 40% of the population it has today. Not 2/3rds.

Why would China decide that Thailand is a good place to settle? Or is
this yet another case of your misspelling or many just getting your
facts wrong?

You see, Tommy, South East Asia is rather noted for the numbers of
Chinese that left China to settle in a new country. The "Thai"
population is made up of something like 10 million folks of Chinese
decent, about 14%. My wife's father came from China. Singapore? About
75% of the population is of Chinese decent. Malaysia? About 22%

But, you see Tommy, our "local Chinese" have very little relationship
to the country, China, as they all left it because it was a horrible
place to be so they came to a better place and feel no affection for
the place that they came from. In fact, in Thailand, if you ask a chap
that is obviously not a full blooded Thai - looks a bit Chinese - what
he is and he will tell you he is a Thai.

Now pay attention here Tommy, I'm going to whisper a secret in your
ear.

(Pssst... Tommy if you get your facts all in a line before you open
your mouth people will listen more closely)

"fact" in the above, of course, meaning something that is true as
opposed to something that is imagined.

Cheers,

John B.

Besides, China doesn't border Thailand. Now, Mr Xi has
decided that walled borders benefit either China or the CCP
or himself:

Which is driven equally to control flows both in and out.

Actually I doubt very much that Tommy has ever chased anyone away as I
don't remember Jay ever sounding upset at Tom's posting. In fact Jay
seemed to exhibit a certain amount of sympathy for a chap that was so
inapt that he couldn't figure out how to install the bottom-bracket
bearings in a bicycle and Jay even gave him advice and tried to help
him figure out right and left.

As an aside I recently googled "insane" and discovered it is now,
apparently, not a socially acceptable term. What is now the proper
term to use is:

psychosis
A mental disorder characterized by symptoms, such as delusions or
hallucinations, that indicate impaired contact with reality...

Could you elaborate on that a bit? And yes I am aware of most of the

totally "tax free".

The Chinese have bought

So, California is broke, desolate, and has no future... and you
continue to live there? It certainly shows the world what you are, A
dumb shit, that although rich, isn't intelligent enough to move out of
the slums. A real loser.

Bullshit.

You did that sparky, not obama.

Yer a big fat fucking zero alright....

lol...tommy thinks obama signed TARP legislation before he was elected.

LOL, tommy thinks his investment income won't be taxed when he withdraws it.

That may or may not be true, but I'd love to see what financial instruments you're using that completely eliminate any tax liability from investment income. Enlighten us, sparky.

Andrew. So you believe that Laos which is almost entirely under the control of China doesn't border Thailand? That Thailand isn't a useful tool of the Chinese? You could have asked the State Department about this before Obama, but now with the very worst of the Obama people running everything, you couldn't find out shit.

>Andrew. So you believe that Laos which is almost entirely under the control of China doesn't border Thailand? That Thailand isn't a useful tool of the Chinese? You could have asked the State Department about this before Obama, but now with the very worst of the Obama people running everything, you couldn't find out shit.

Laos? Under the control of the Chinese? Really?

Although China does hold a significant amount of Laos debt, just as it
holds a large amount of U.S. debt, there seems to be no overt attempt
to control the government. After all, why would they? Laos GDP is in
the neighborhood of 14,000 (million US$) while China's GDP is nearly
800 times greater and the country has no geographical advantage. Why
would anyone want that useless POS country? Well, except to build a
railroad across it.

There were certainly a lot of bombs dropped on Laos. A friend took a
bus trip from Vientiane north and east to Vietnam and he said that all
the way you could see bomb craters on either side of the road.

Re mining, Laos certainly isn't famous for minerals although I believe
that tin was "mined" in the French days. The Laotians have a
reputation for being a rather lackadaisical people. One never pays for
a job until it is completed as the Laotians are said to wonder off and
get drunk if they have any money so one should never give them any
money until the work is completed.

During the French "protectorate" the French imported a lot of
Vietnamese as the Viets are a rather industrious people, much like
Chinese, while the Laotian are much more "laid back". I read that as
much as 50% of the population of Vientiane was Viet. The French also
did much the same in Cambodia, I believe.

By the way, mining, in a developing country seldom results in much
money flowing into the country. The Mine is financed by foreign
capital, all equipment and skilled labor is imported and only
unskilled personnel are employed locally and while their salary is
often far the highest in the country it is still pennies in the mining
industry and the mining country makes sure that any profits are taken
outside the country. So, yes several hundred/thousand locals make a
big (for them) salary but that is about all that happens

I'm not being exactly accurate because, of course to get the
permissions and licenses, etc, from the nation it must pay some
percentage of their profit to "the government" who are quire
frequently a thousand miles away and, of course, see no reason to give
the peasants anything.
