Here I am with a garage full of bicycles, ready to put another one together and my friend who is now in the hospital I have his bike in the computer room. If he craps out, will his sister want to ship that Trek Madone 4.3 back to Wisconsin?

Since it is a 54 cm I'm not all that sure that she would want the expense and NOTHING is selling now regardless of how good a deal it is. No one knows that the hell Biden is doing to the economy. At my local store it is getting difficult to buy Milk. What's next? Another lack of toilet paper?

Nope. Give it to the two "illegal aliens" who tried to save his life.

Bicycle sales are up due to the cost of gasoline. Just because you're
having problems selling your bicycles, doesn't mean that everyone is
having the same problem. Since it seems that eBikes are leading the
sales, perhaps you are trying to sell the wrong type of bicycle?

Frank, you have shown yourself to be the comedian of the group, I see that you're so stupid that you are unaware that the US dollar is the exchange vehicle of the world and that if Biden overprints money causing inflation that it effects the entire world.

I wish that I were as stupid as you are so that I could always believe that the world is just doing peachy keen as Biden tells the Russians and the Chinese that he intends to take no actions at all for their invasions. I know that you will be as happy as a pig in shit when China invades Taiwan and starts the atrocities.

Now tell me that you never said any such thing after someone sent me your comic. What I can enjoy is that this inflation that wasn't Biden's fault is most strongly effecting people like you who were teaching at a lackluster college and with retirement -pay that will force you back to work. Have a good laugh after showing that you don't have even a passing clue with what is happening in the world. If you lose one more point of IQ you won't ever need an EKG because there won't be anything there to detect.

"It's all Biden's fault" is not true either. It's no more true than
"Obama caused the recession."

The issues of the day are quite complicated. The discussions are not
improved by those who inject obvious falsehoods.

But I wonder just what effect the so called "sanctions" will really

Another point is what and how much does Russia import from other
countries. I read, for example, that China's exports to Russia was
$50.58 billion and the EU exported something like $90 billion worth in
2020. Will countries give up that amount in sales?

had to hand out money to the soy bean farmers to compensate for their

Soybean prices are nearing their lowest level in more than a decade
following a series of tweets from President Donald Trump that
threatened to increase tariffs on hundreds of billions of dollars on
Chinese imports

You listed the price drop. Do you believe that a drop in price of ~20%
doesn't bother the farmers. What is the profit margin on agriculture?

>Farmers in the USA frequently store their crops. Either in their own grain bins or at the local elevator. This costs money, yes. But like with stocks, you are usually not forced to sell on the day you harvest. And as I showed from my link, the prices were as high as $11.48 on Nov 9, 2020. After Trump was defeated. A $3.15 increase from the lows of $8.31-8.09 in late 2018, all 2019, and early 2020. A 40% increase from their lows. 40% increase in 2 years and 2 months. Everyone in the stock market would kill for gains like that.

Look at Germany: we hoard

rapeseed oil

Probably that's those things Russia and Ukraine produce most of.

The "natural gas" price now os close to double that of autumn 2021, and
that of Autumn 2021 was double the usual price.

Petrol (us: gas) and Diesel have peaked a few weeks ago (some of the
refineries in eastern Germany were supplied with crude oil via pipeline
from Russia), the prices are slowly sinking again while governments are
reducing gas taxes for the next few months to placate car commuters.

For the exporter, a 1-2% loss of trade is an inconvenience, not a hardship.

For Europe as an importer, the direct loss of 2% by money in commodities
(gas, oil, nickel) might kill followup processes up to 30% of the
economy, which makes it a lot harder.

Well, I probably should say that people are buying 2nd rate new bikes instead of 1st rate used bikes with much better equipment on them. The reasons for this I can only imagine is lack of experience. But they were doing the same with 2nd rate new cars instead of 1st rate used. Why would you buy a new Mercedes that is so unreliable that they have to give you a 3 year warranty and tow truck operators are rubbing their hands together for every Mercedes that leaves the lot? A two year old Buick is a better car all around and cheap comparatively.

Even the local FOX station are nothing more than leftist propagandists. The cost of gas in the area is $6.50 a gallon and listening to them tell us that due to the wonderful efforts of Biden the price has gone down 2 cents a gallon really shows the unmitigated gall of these people.

Poor Tom! Around here it's just under $4 per gallon. Like most so called
"expensive" things, it doesn't even cause me to blink. I can afford it,
especially if it somehow helps frustrate Putin.

Poor Tom. Ride bike!

So in California, gas is $1.70 higher than elsewhere in USA out of which
$1.30 goes into environmental matters (taxes, higher quality
requirements) and $0.40 goes to the oil companies "because they can"

https://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2022/03/30/california-high-gas-prices-mystery-surcharge-discussion-renewed/

In a meaingful capitalism, some company would make lots of money selling
oil $0.20 cheaper than the current oil companies...

In Germany, gas currently is around €2 per litre which is around €7.5
per gallon or US$ 8.3 per gallon; the peak was March 08 to 15 with a
pice around €2.25 per liter.
In December 2021 the price was €1.60, in April to December 2020 it was
even €1.20 (after a peak of €1.60 in 2012).

Here, we often see that gas prices rise together with oil prices but
fall with a delay of 2-3 weeks after the oil prices.
The refineries have figured out that rising prices hurt but once
consumers are used to them the pain of keeping them high is too small
for peple to care about.

Despite the Democrat claims otherwise, California is absolutely broke. And we've been that way since Governor Brown. Biden is paying California off or else we would have declared bankruptcy. The gas taxes do not go one inch towards any environmental protection since they need every buck they get to pay their bills.

Let's see how expensive bicycles are selling on eBay:

I'll assume that a $500 selling price is about the break point for
"1st rate used bikes". 5,800+ Bicycles sold on eBay in USA for over
$500. I scrolled through the sold listings and counted 240 bicycles
which were sold in the last 4 days. That's 60 expensive used bicycles
per day. Not too shabby.

Maybe I should see how bicycles under $500 are selling:
<https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=bicycles&_sacat=0&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1&LH_PrefLoc=1&_udlo=0&_dmd=2&_sop=10&rt=nc&_udhi=500>
6,100+ sold in USA. 470 sold in the last 4 days or 117.5 per day. All
I can deduce from that is that used bicycles under $500 are selling a
little better than used bicycles over $500.

Sorry, but I couldn't find any sales figures for "2nd rate new bikes".

But does Not importing oil from Russia really have a major effect on
the U.S. oil supplies? In 2021 the U.S. imports of oil from Russia
amounted to only about 8% of all oil imports. Canada supplies about
50% of oil imports to the U.S. and of course Saudi and other countries
also supply oil to the U.S.

Funny how tommy can tell someone is illegal just by watching them give CPR.

There is some recent influence to that effect but the major cost driver has been the supply chain issues from the pandemic. I'm sure Andrew can confimr that to a certain extent.

I'd suggest it has more to do with him being an asshole.

No. It was symbolic.

https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=727&t=6
US imports 8.47 million bpd. US exports 8.63 million bpd. 2021.

https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=33&t=6#:~:text=In%202021%2C%20the%20United%20States,7.22%20billion%20barrels%20of%20petroleum.
US used 19.78 million bpd. 2021.

US produced about 11.24 million bpd. 2021.

I'm not quite sure how this all adds up.
Use 19.78.
Produce 11.24.
Import/export net -0.16.
Missing 8.7 that must have come from somewhere. Did we use up old stored oil?
