I wonder if suddenly people will start buying bicycles again? Shops appear to be closing all over the place so something better happen and soon. But I'm sure that Frank will tell you that it is all because people have access to "military weapons" or John will say that improperly used you cannot be injured by a revolver. What either of those has to do with anything is just Frank and John speak.

The last couple of rides have been a failure. One was only 5 miles though I can't remember why. The ride with my friend Will ending in his heart attack was only 9 miles. I will try to do a flat 25 today. I could stretch it out but don't have the time. And someone has made me an offer on the Douglas Ti. I decided that I'm so pushed for room that I would accept it. But actual delivery is always a problem. He lives in southern California and says he is going to come north to pick it up. Losing that bike gives me room for the bikes I have. Though hanging the Merlin from the ceiling means I would have to pull the seatpost out so I don't hit my head every time I pass by.

Then if I can sell a second bike that would give me room to build up the Merckx Elite for sale. I had the idea that people could work on bikes like I can, but new cars that the common man cannot work on himself without $10,000 in computer analyzers apparently has reduced the mechanical ability of people down to near zero.

I turned in a fast 40 K which showed me that lowered the saddle that half inch accomplished reducing the saddle soreness. For the Centuries I may want a wider saddle though. It might be interesting to test a Bontrager Montrose saddle I have, It's wider and has some real padding. i checked my weight and I'm only 7 lbs over normal so perhaps I didn't put on as much weight as it feels.
