These baffle me even more than most bike lanes. They're intended to be
used only on low traffic, slower streets. In the reading I've done,
nobody has explained why cyclists need any sort of bike lane on low
traffic, slower streets.

In my experience, the main function of any bike lane stripe is to allow
gravel and other debris to stay on the pavement, instead of getting
swept aside by the occasional car tire.

At least the riders in the video were avoiding the door zone.
