No comment on the supposed purpose of the video. But at 6:35 of the video he is breaking the bicycle chain. What tool is being used? That is not a regular bicycle chain tool. Its readily apparent in the video this person has zero knowledge about bicycles. He chose a 1970s Schwinn piece of junk bicycle for his project. Ha Ha. But he uses multi thousand dollar water jets to cut aluminum plate and a metal lathe.

He was trying to recreate something done in an old magazine and trying to see if he could reach the speed claimed by the original guy in the article. Therefore he used and era appropriate bicycle.

OK. Being a bicyclist and only interested in bicycle chains, I forgot that other devices also have chains. Not bicycle sized. So they use different chain breakers than my bicycle chain breaker. Maybe the 1970s Schwinn Varsity bike chain he broke is similar in size to a motorcycle chain and his tool worked just fine.

His Popular Mechanics was from February 1963. The bike he used was a 1970s Schwinn Varsity. Not that the Schwinn Varsity had changed much from the 1960s to the 1970s. The bike in the magazine was a 3 speed style with the upright handlebars.
